Meet Our Doctor


Dr. Heffelfinger graduated from Huntington North High School in 1996. He then went on to attend Huntington University for two years before completing his Bachelor of Biology and Associate of Chemical Technology from Purdue University- Fort Wayne. From there he went on to attend Dental School at Indiana University- Indianapolis. There he received the Dean’s Gold Award for scoring above the 90th percentile nationally on both part I and II of the National Dental Board Examination. Only three students in his class received this award.

He practiced in Indianapolis for 1 ½ years as an associate dentist before moving to Auburn. In 2007 he took ownership of what is now know as Smiles For Life.

Dr. Heffelfinger has completed over 250 hours of continuing education covering many different disciplines of dentistry including: restorative care, endodontics, composite dentistry, dentistry for pediatric patients, oral surgery, fixed prosthetics, and removable prosthetics. Nearly 50 of those hours pertained specifically to how implant dentistry can be used to restore a persons smile. By pursuing ongoing continuing education he strives to better his knowledge and skills in all areas of dentistry and to make current techniques and materials available for the benefit of his patients.

He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Indiana Dental Association and currently sits on the board of the Isaac Knapp District Dental Society. He volunteers his dental skills at St. Martin’s Dental Clinic in Garrett, In. and is actively involved in the leadership of County Line Church of God.

Dr. Heffelfinger and his wife Kelly have two beautiful children, Alexis and Jarin who are both in grade school. His favorite pastimes include time with his family, watersports and snowmobiling.
